MWC2018 kicked off in Barcelona on February 26. For terminal vendors, the annual MWC conference is a stage for them to do their best. The day before the MWC2018, exhibitors had already posted their own blockbuster products. While there is no such thing as a brilliant black technology, many of the technologies we’ve been familiar with in recent years have begun to apply. In addition, many end products bring innovative designs far beyond our expectations.
Like making a mobile phone to do the computer, the full screen light-weight laptop will set off a boom.
Huawei is the first manufacturer to launch new products on MWC2018. Although there was no HUAWEI P20 , HUAWEI MateBook X Pro helped Huawei win a round of applause.
The design of HUAWEI MateBook X Pro features light-weight and ultra-high screen ratio. It is with a 13.9-inch LTPS HD touch screen and resolution of 3000 X 2000, 100 % sRGB color domain. The screen ratio is up to 91%.
As for the thickness of the fuselage, the thinnest place is only 7.8mm, the thickest place is 14.6mm. Combined with the high ratio full screen, the first impression of HUAWEI MateBook X Pro is exquisite.

Except for HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, huawei also released the world’s first 3 GPP standard 5G baseband (balong 5G01). Peak rate is as high as 2.3 Gbps and supports Sub6GHz and mmWave multiband scheme (Qualcomm 5G baseband X50 uses 28 GHZ mmWave).
Huawei has also released huawei 5G CPE, a 5G commercial terminal based on balong 5G01 baseband. As for what CPE is, it can be understood simply as a device for converting 5G signals into WiFi routing. 5G will be the first to launch 5G handsets by 2019.
Mobile AI, VR/AR application scenarios are becoming more common.
Since AI, VR/AR and other technologies have been hot in the mobile phone industry, it has brought rich intelligent visual and auditory experience to mobile phones. For example, the latest Samsung S9/S9+ introduced in MWC2018 brings a lot of different experiences.

Variable aperture, mobile phone camera gets new look.
Samsung S9/S9+ is the most popular new products in MWC2018 and the most anticipated model in the first half of this year. Samsung S9/S9+ has outstanding performance in both appearance and overall performance.
Unfortunately, Samsung S9/S9+ doesn’t change much in appearance and the front design is consistent with the Samsung S8 series. The screen ratio has not improved much, too. The design of the fingerprint button on the back of the fuselage does look a lot more comfortable.
The biggest upgrade of Samsung S9/S9+ is the camera. The upgrade is to increase the visual function of AI/AR to improve imaging quality.
In terms of hardware, Samsung S9/S9+ uses 12 megapixel camera. S9 is single-shot, while S9+ double-shot. They both support optical anti-shake. Most importantly, the Samsung S9/S9+ new camera supports the 960-frame video shooting, as well as F/1.5~F/2.4 variable aperture.
High-speed video shooting
The advantage of supporting high frame video is users can use mobile phones for high-speed video shooting. The highest speed video shooting on the earlier phone was 240 frames per second. And it was only after SONY launched IMX400 sensors to realize mobile phone video shooting 960 frames. After SONY, Samsung achieved it with its own ISOCELL sensor, which is a good breakthrough.
Not far from the real full screen
Although full screen phones have become ubiquitous, it’s just the industry’s default 18:9 screen for a full screen. In fact, it is not difficult to achieve a real full screen with the current technology, which is mainly due to Samsung’s COP flexible screen packaging technology.
As shown in the figure above, the current screen has three different packaging technologies, compared to the traditional COG, now many full screen phones use COF, which can shorten the body’s chin. A real full screen phone has to use COP encapsulation technology.
Thus, if you want to achieve a truly full-screen mobile phone, the most important question is how to solve the design of front-facing camera and receiver. For this question, vivo will submit a reference answer on MWC2018.
Vivo APEX is the most stunning new product on the first day of MWC2018. The screen ratio is up to 98%. The width of the top and left and right borders is only 1.8mm, and the bottom border is 4.3mm. There is no front facing camera and receiver, or even any opening.
In fact, however, vivo APEX did not eliminate the functions of taking selfies and calling. From the current relatively mature solutions, vivo APEX may use the same light sensor as the Apple Watch, which can be placed under the OLED screen. As for the distance sensor, it should be the ultrasonic distance sensor, which can also be hidden under the screen.
As for the front-facing camera, vivo APEX hides it inside the fuselage with a mechanical structure designed to lift it up and down automatically.
On the road to realize the real full screen, the fingerprint button on the screen is also crucial. It is worth noting that vivo APEX also uses in-screen fingerprint identification technology, which covers almost a third of the screen area and supports dual fingerprint identification.
