SONY’s New Phone Cancels 3.5mm Headphone Jack

According to FCC documents, a new machine of SONY Xperia with the number of PY7-21831A uses the USB Type-C interface which is also used for audio and charging functions. Another document makes it clear that the machine is equipped with a adapter that changes 20cm USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack to support the use of common earphones.

In addition, the FCC ID tag for the SONY device is placed at the top of the phone, which was normally placed in a 3.5mm headphone jack, suggesting that the 3.5mm headphone jack is cancelled.

The new machine may be a Xperia flagship, with size of 152.42 *72.42 mm and 5.7 inches screen. It is expected to appear on MWC in late February.
