Apple’s HomePod has been approved by the FCC, indicating that the smart speaker is ready to go on sale at any time. All devices sold in the United States using for communications technologies like bluetooth and Wi-Fi need approval from the FCC, and the approval of the FCC means HomePod will be available soon.
Today’s approval is also preliminary to the news that “Inventec shipped HomePod to Apple” this week. Earlier this week, the Taipei Times reported that Apple’s supplier Inventec had started shipping HomePod to Apple, with only one million units being shipped.
Apple has already announced that HomePod will be the first to list in the US, UK and Australia in early 2018. It now looks likely to arrive in late January or early February.
