Evaluation of Meizu S6

Meizu S6 is a regular entry-level full-screen phone. The Samsung Exynos 7872 processor has 6 cores, including two Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. The GPU is Mail-G71 and the memory size is 3GB. It comes with 3000mAh battery and 16MP rear camera.

Appearance: full screen with side fingerprint

Meizu S6 is an 18:9 display with a metal body that the thickness is 8mm. In addition, the machine offers four colors for you to choose from.

The most classic design of Meizu S6 is the side fingerprint module, which is embedded in the metal body and cannot be pressed. The speed of the measured recognition is still available and the official response rate is 0.2 second. The power button is not integrated within the fingerprint, but separately on the top of it. If you just want to light up the screen, your   thumb may need to be pushed up a little bit.

Meizu S6 has a 5.7-inch in-cell screen with a resolution of 1440*720. Although the forehead and chin are not shrunk extremely narrow, it still looks good. It is worth mention that the positive virtual Home button of Meizu S6, the position of the dot, supports the pressure sensor, light touch to go back, heavy press to return to the desktop. It features a 16-megapixel slightly raised rear camera. The metal fuselage feels very good and two U-shaped antennas can be seen up and down. It uses the interface of micro USB and retains 3.5mm headphone jack. The mCharge of 18W is supported.

System: Flyme with new pressure interaction

The machine runs Flyme 6.3 system. This system is very mature, and the newly added full-screen interactive system may need to be re-adapted, but it still works well after adaptation. This is not only the removal of the front Home keyboard, but also the side fingerprint, which is independent of the power button and fingerprint.

Meizu S6 system interface

Meizu S6 adds the pressure sensing to the virtual Home button, which is the reevolution after the interaction between Smart Ba and mBack. Meizu calls it Super mBack. What are the highlights of the new interaction?

For example, the built-in mBack: light touch “small circle” to realize the Back function, and repress “small circle” to realize the Home function.

Lock screen: long press “small circle” to lock screen.

Switch backstage multi-task 1: horizontal sliding bottom bar can switch backstage multi-tasking.

Switch backstage multi-task 2: long press the blank area, follow the finger movement, also can switch the multi-task quickly.

Start the background multi-task: from the bottom column up, can exhale the background multi-task.

In general, the new system interaction of Meizu S6 brings a pretty good experience. Let’s take a look at how this screen works, with a 5.7-inch 1440*720 resolution screen and a pixel density of 282ppi. We choose to test in all black closed environment, then the screen brightness reaches 415nits. The NTSC color field is 68.67%, and the color temperature is 7668K.

Studio shot: color restore accurate with high tolerance.

Live-action: the color reduction is accurate.

Performance: the long-lost Orion is doing well.

It is equipped with the first Exynos 7872 processor on the market, also 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of ROM. And I have specially downloaded some of the mainstream games on the market as the test means of performance testing. The result is if you want to buy a mobile phone that can play games at this price, then Meizu S6 is a good choice.

Battery life: charge one hour to play all day.

Meizu S6 is with a built-in 3000 mAh battery. Cooperating with the power control, the performance is good. Five hours after heavy use remains power 24%, while half an hour charging tests into fully 55% of the battery. Meizu’s traditional quick charge has been preserved.

On the whole, the Meizu S6 is a mobile phone with balanced parameters and no obvious short board.
